I know i havent posted recently, life has been soooo busy....

WOW! It's been 1 year since I took my life back...since I told fat me it was time to say good bye and that I never want to see  her again!

This has been the toughest year of my life but the most exciting! When I finally made the decision to have this surgery back in July 2012 (after years of debating, dieting and watching my sister have the RNY a year prior) I promised myself that if I was going to do this I was gonna do it full out! Like many of you i have worked my ass off and had tons of ups and downs which consisted of fear of food (calories, carbs etc.), bad choices, good choices and staying accountable.

The major change I have made in my life has been exercise! I have a love hate relationship with exercise and have from the beginning. But that's where the accountability came into play.  I posted via "Check in" on FB every time I went to the gym and religiously tracked exercise and food on My Fitness Pal and paid close attention to all the values keeping in mind my situation. I slowly increased my exercise and may have gone to hard at one point but I kept going. I consentrated on cardio for the first 6 to 7 months with a small amount of resistance.  I have now started with a personal trainer 9 weeks ago doing some weight training and can't believe how in love I am with lifting! I've decided to do a bit of body building and see where this new body can go.  I don't track as much anymore but I think I have a pretty good grasp on this new lifestyle and always make sure I'm in the gym 4 to 5 times a week (including training).

Now the goal weight I set for myself is not out of sight but I'm pretty confident I never get there because I may have over estimated what my frame would allow. But let me tell u I can't wait for my TT and Boob job (I resemble a 12 year old boy WTF lmao).

Did this surgery suck in the beginning? Was is painful? Were there scary possible complications? Were there adjustments? YES, YES, YES to all of the above!

Would I go back and do it differently? NO! Best decision I have ever made. My life is mine again.

I Have been lucky enough not to have any complications except the odd dizzy spell. I have never once been sick or tossed my cookies since before surgery.

Thank you to everyone on here for being there for me even though you may not realize you were. I creep around these parts all the time and maybe post once in a while. But I can relate to many of your questions that I was to scared to ask and love that everyone is there to share their experiences.

I'm excited to see what the next year brings. Gotta keep moving and making the good choices!

Congratulations. You have done a great job. Glad you found an exercise to get you in the gym. I know for me that has been a constant challenge. Good luck with your year two and adjusting to maintenance. With your attitude you should do great.
