Hi, just wondering about the amount of weight loss after surgery.  Im a little over one month, had some problems with infection and was put on strong antibiotics which set me back a couple weeks.  I lost approx 20 pounds since surgery and now it seems to be a pound a week.  Im concerned that this isnt right and Im doing something wrong.  Ive been working at eating my protein, shakes makes me too nauseous so working on getting my protein by food.  Im just very concerned that I should be losing more.  Any suggestions??

As long as you're following your center's program, it will catch up. I also was at a long stall 4 or 5 weeks post op.....it doesn't make sense when you think of it and how little you're eating, but everyone is different, keep doing what you're doing. One thing for sure, you can't over eat so i'm sure it's just time. Don't be bummed, 20 is nothing to sneeze at. It will come off :). I find it a struggle to get all my protein in but I try with the shakes, tuna, 1 oz old cheddar, cottage cheese etc.....good luck!

Thanks, yes thats what I feel as well.  With as little as I eat I thought I was doing something wrong.  Thanks for your reply.

Just keep following the plan and it will come off.  If you are having problems with shakes, you could be having dairy issues, I know I can't have any milk based shakes at all.  Try a juice based shake.  4Everfit has a line, and I'm sure there are others.  Shoppers had a Webber brand that was like juice, I haven't looked for it lately though.

Don't worry just follow the plan and it will come off.  I'm just over 2 months out and I am a slow loser also. My first month I lost 12lbs and my second month I lost 14 1/2 lbs.  as long as it comes off and you stay on the plan you will get to where you need to be.

Don't forget slow and steady wins the race!  Just enjoy the ride and follow the plan your NUT gave you and everything will work out.  I have 156lbs to loose, so my journey will defiantly be long, but as long as the scale keeps going down....I'm good.  I find that the info given to you on obesity help can be great and useful but doctors, dietician and NUT's are always coming out with new and improved methods to help us.  They know what is best for you not every well wisher or not so well wisher here on obesity help.  Have faith in your team...you got this.
