Hello everyone, i thought i would post some info .I think it is important to let people know the ups and downs that happen during our journeys. Its been just over 2 years since my revision from a old stomach stapling i had in the 90s...I am a size 3-4 , no complaints there. ..The issue i am having for last 6 months is i dont like food anymore. I dont like the taste , i dont desire anything anymore..And so this has caused me to have VERY low iron. Vit D etc...So doc has upped all my vit and iron..I used to love cooking now i hate it . I have to  force myself to eat because i know i need it....I am going back to family doc next week and i will be asking to be referred for some help. I am going to get through this with the proper help im sure..This journey has been a roller coaster for sure, i would do it again in a heart beat... I will keep updating on what happens . Take care everyone..Krista..

I just had a revision on July 10 to a stapling done in 1989. We are so alike. Except for two years I have not liked food nor could I get it down without Vomitting it back up. I lived on forcing ensure down three times a day and for the rest of the time....I juiced vegetables. Try it and see if that is something that can get you through the day. Take extra vitamins for sure. Get a juicer and try a cucumber, a pear , a bit of lemon or lime and some celery. It might be something that works for your tastebuds and light enough to be satisfying. You need to talk this over with a specialist. I wouldn't want anybody to go through for two years not wanting to eat and not dealing with protein. Try sipping on protein water during the day. Because I just had revision, I am still having a hard time taking in my required protein. Yet oddly enough, not losing either. You are down quite a bit. Get some scopes and Ct scan to see what is going on. Take care and keep on top of those Drs.

Sorry you are having these issues. You might consider trying to get help from your Bariatric Centre. Since they specialise in WLS issues. Good luck

Nice to see you Kerry and Krista!  You both used to be regular posters on here. I hope you continue to stay in touch. Good luck Krista with your food "demons". I'm glad you are reaching out for help!!

It's so disheartening to go through feelings like this, isn't it. I've gone through this at times myself over the years, to varying degrees.

From what I'm reading, your situation sounds like a mental/emotional issue and I hope the referral you are seeking is counseling/therapy based. From a brief look from the outside, it appears almost to be a food aversion issue. I'm glad to read that you continuing to eat, even though it feels like you're forcing yourself. I would venture to guess that you're not eating much however, if your iron and D have tanked that significantly.

Keep at it, Krista. I've been in a similar position, albeit due to a serious illness, and it really did feel like "force feeding". Over time, my enjoyment (and tolerance) of food came back, but I still struggle sometimes with it.
