Not for the squeamish... I posted some pics of my open wound on my profile. They are only of the middle one. I have two smaller ones on each side near my hip.

Sorry for your glitch in your journey to better physical and emotional health.
I too had a necrosis/gangrene but was treated in hospital with a wound Vac and did not want to go home with one. If you pm me your email, when I am not on my iPhone I can try to email you pics of my wound at it's worst a few days after the debridement as I didn't put them up on the forum.
Siberian Cat had also put up wound pics in May/June if I'm not mistaken.
I am still very happy to have my apronectomy done!

Geez...sorry this happened to you.

Prolly not what you want to hear...I'll say it anyway...

Your wound looks good! Nice, clean and beefy. (sorry, surgical ICU nurse here! I find beauty in the strangest places!!)

You are doing a good job. It will heal...just sloooow.

Take care.

That's exactly what my surgeon said....red and beefy. My daughter is a MA and is doing a great job at changing my dressings every day.

Oh you poor thing! It does look as if it is healing very well. Has you doctor offered to do a scar revision if it doesn't scar well?

We have not discussed a revision yet. He swears my scar will be pencil thin after it heals...we will see. I'm more worried about how much looser my skin is since he opened it up. I will be insisting on a revision then. I didn't go through all this to have a jelly belly.

I have to warn you I had LBL 4/15/11 my back opened like yours has I packed it twice daily with gauze soaked in bleach and baking soda solution.  My back is mostly healed but it still looks like I got shot in the back and is still scabbing but at least it's not oozing any longer.  Dr. is waiting for it to heal completely to do a revision.  I just want you to be prepared for a long healing period.   Good Luck!
