How can one afford PS? Is there special financing somewhere? I do have documented rash below in the "apron" area and some under the breasts so how much or how many times does the doctor have to document this for Medicare and/or supplemental insurance might cover it?

Some surgeons participate with Care Credit, so that might be an option.

For Medicare/Medigap/Supplemental insurance, you should call and find out exactly what the requirements for coverage are.

I used a combination of savings, some money from my mom, and the home equity line of credit.

I've heard of others using a home equity line of credit, as Gwen did. Also, I've heard of some taking it out of a retirement account (not sure I'd recommend that, though - although it might be fine at your age (70) as long as you have enough left over to get you through the rest of your life). I used some inheritance money for mine. If it weren't for that, I probably would have gone the home equity route.

I went to Mexico for my surgery, so I got a 360 degree lower body lift, muscle repair, butt lift, outer thigh lift, lipo and fat grafting for $12,000. I took out a low interest loan.

Hi Haley and congrats on your surgery. How was your experience with Dr. Cardenas and the facility? Did you stay in the recovery house. Her reviews are great but I'm still a little hesitant about going out of the U.S. I appreciate any info that you're willing to share. Thanks!!!

Hey! My experience was great, I think I'll post a review of hers on the board and on realself.com with pictures and such, but as a quick overview; I give her skill 10/10, she gets rid of all the extra skin and closes you tight! I stayed in the recovery house for 8 days, it was a little boring, but it gets the job done. Also, I think I must have lost 10 pounds in there because they feed you so healthily. I got the Royal Lower Body Lift with Flur de Lis and it cost $12,000 on May 3rd 2019. Lastly, she is just about the safest surgeon around, and that's including US doctors. She has you do tons of pre op testing and makes sure you are in optimal health. She is safety out the yin yang, like to the point that I was annoyed sometimes because she was so thorough. She literally has this sense of it being her God given duty to be the best and safest surgeon out there, a real type A personality if you know what I mean lol obsessed with perfection

But, you know, she did a great job lol

Thank you so much for your quick response. I've read so many positive reviews about her. Type A is something you totally want in a surgeon!

Did you go alone? Did you feel ok leaving your wallet and passport at the recovery house?

Does she do surgery right at her office or does she use a hospital?

I've read so many positive reviews. I'm in NY so it would be a lot of travel to get there but it sounds like she's one of the best surgeons around.

I've had 3 surgeries totaling $48K, and used savings and a low interest credit card. I'm very frugal and live an inexpensive lifestyle which helps. I joke that my most expensive hobbies are running, yoga and my grandkids. I work full time and try to do any overtime offered. Being frugal as I am, the amount I've paid is well worth the self-confidence I've gained. It's also motivation to maintain my weight. I know it's an intimidating cost, but completely doable if you set your mind to it.

Not to mention shoes and insoles that have to be replaced every 300-500 miles! Lol!
