Next Step?

I am just finishing my 7th cycle of clomid and metformin, wondering what would be the next step. My Doc is not all that familiar with WLS patients, so I might need to move on to a specialist.

I have read some ladies saying that they are clomid resistant....and am wondering if I could be as well. After 7 cycles with clomid I only had 2 cycles that produced viable follicles, had the booster shot and still nothing...

Any info that you all have experienced would be really helpful - loosing faith and feel like I am about to give up - hoping for some inspiration from this group!

Thanks,
Heather :)

Do you have PCOS?  How much weight have you lost?  Are your cycles regular?

Sorry for all the questions...just trying to gather information so I can try and sound inteligent when I answer you!

Oh and what kind of doctor are you seeing?  Is it a Reproductive Endocrinologist?

I'm sorry you're struggling to get pregnant Heather! The next step is to make an appt with a specialist. I LOVE my RE! They are fantastic! Have you had an IUI? I moved onto injectable medication quickly after only 3 rounds of clomid... more because I only have one fallopian tube. The clomid was working but was taking forever! The injections should cause me to have multiple follicles on both ovaries, hopefully guaranteeing an eggie on my left side. Keep your chin up... there are so many other things to try besides clomid!

I had no luck with Clomid, even after max dosage of 150mg. I also at the time did not tolerate Metformin well. I have PCOS. What worked for me was the Femara. I also took Avandia instead of Metformin but that is not available now. However, they do have a time released Metformin that is more tolerable and I have tried. So with the Femara and Avandia I also did the HCG trigger shot and I was also on Viagra suppositories to increase my uterine lining to help increase chance of implantation. This was my jackpot and I was able to conceive my son who is now 4. I did see a specialist who was in same practice as my OB/GYN and they worked closely togetehr on my treatment plan.
