DS!  You have a great revision surgeon right there in NJ....Dr. Rabkin.  Get at appt with him.  I am a RNY to DS revision and wish I had been more educated about the DS when I had my first surgery....I would have skipped RNY all together.  Go to dsfacts.com to get lots of good info on the DS.  Also, post over on the DS forum.  The important thing is to get a vetted revision surgeon.

DS all the way.  I had the lapband as well but unlike you it never worked for me.  I revised to the DS and so far its the best decision Ive made so far.  I dont even think of food and my recovery time was amazing.  I was in the hospital on a Monday and out by Wednesday.  By two weeks I was feeling 90% normal again.  So far I have not complications at all.  Please do your research and pick the best surgery for you.  Make sure to check your insurance and make sure you qualify for revision on both surgeries.

I didnt really have to fast before surgery.  My doctor told me to lose as much weight as I can but I actually ended up gaining weight.  Post op diet is jus****er and protein.  You probably wont be able to eat anything until 2 weeks and that will be hardly anything.  I eat very little food right now and im already 1 month out.  3 bites and im already full.  I still drink my water and protein.  You have to get in as much protein as possible.

I jsut want to speak up & say if Greenbaum does not work out (he has been pushing ERNY, not that he will on you.... just be aware, please)  and seek another opinion with Roslin, OK?
