X Post: Band removal cost?

Do you know the cheapest, yet still safe, obviously, way to get a band removed? Should I go back to my original surgeon, who is now not in my network? Might he give me a discount? Should I go to the surgeon who is seeing me now for fills? Since my insurance says it's not broken, I'm taking the damn crapband out myself.

my original lapband dr charges 7k to remove the band self pay.

are you just removing or revising to another WLS?  sounds like you don't have any band damage, so you propably would not have to have it removed first and can revise in one procedure.  depending on what you want to do next, would depend on if you need an explant only or explant and revision, good luck on your journey
