Well, my appeal is in the hands of one Bobbie Garner, CPC at BCBS (according to my paperwork).  I have been sending powerfully positive thoughts her way.

I think I made a good case for the removal of my band as being medically necessary. I guess it is all up to her now.

I am glad it is a woman reviewing my case. Hopefully she will be a little more sympathetic. ;-)

I am so ready.

Good luck, Sherrie.

Just be aware that insurance companies have been known to approve the removal of the band without approving a revision surgery.  After being told three times they would approve the revision and have it denied three times (with the last advising to resubmit in three to six months), I personally choose to self pay for the revision portion.

I hope that you're right about Bobbie and all comes back approved.

Yeah, I know. I just need to hope for exactly what I want. Full approval!! I am entertaining self pay options.

Positive thoughts comming you way.

I was told by my PCP insurance person that she was contacted by the insurance people telling her once again, "why are you requesting another weight loss surgery and Pych Eval it is one per lifetime?"  She told them to talk to the head of referal as she put in what she was told by the head."

So, she is getting the same 'ol same 'ol but, at least from the insurance CO itself instead of the middle people.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
