water

Hello, i wanted to ask about drinking water. I am three months out (revision from sleeve to bypass). I am doing pretty well, thank God. I was wondering if I can drink water as usual or does it have to be 4 ounces per hour? I can drink water as I have done before the surgery. I am staying well hydrated, I drink more than 64 ounces a day. Can water make my pouch grow? I do separate water from food, I wait at least 30 min before eating after I drink water.
Thanks,

S

water won't stretch your pouch - it doesn't really collect in there - it just goes right through. I drink water as quickly as I did pre-surgery and have for a long time - I can't how far out I was when I started doing that, though. I think it might have just been the first two or three months when I had to go slowly. Check with your clinic to confirm, but you might be OK.

I drink water up to the time I need to eat. But I wait at least 30 min, 60 min after very dense meal to drink after eating. Proteins shakes don't count as dense meal. I wait 15 Mon after a shake to drink if I am thirsty.
