Estrogen and Fat

I went off bio-identical hormones the day before surgery.  I haven't taken any since (a week ago now) my surgeon told me I bled easily during surgery and they couldn't use blood thinners.

Anyway, all that aside, I'm wondering now about what the research says about fat and estrogen?

Doesn't estrogen bind with fat or something?!?  <--- highly technical!

Thanks!

My understanding is that cholesterol (blood fat) is the precursor to sex hormones (e.g. estrogen). When our body is flooded with the breakdown of body fat, that converts to excessive estrogen. My surgeon explained that women who have previously been infertile due to low hormones will become super-estrogen women and fertility may increase and BCP will not work. Soooo... hope that gives a lay-man's explaination. Maybe there's a GYNO on this board who can explain better.
