I am thankful every day that God grants me to be here on earth.
I think it's awesome to have 100% insurance coverage on a potential life saving surgery (everyone should be entitled to insurance one way or another, don't know how, but...)

I too have depressed moods, wondering if my doc will give me a note to extend my disability for an additional week and a half.  Any suggestions on that?

Wow, this is like Thaksgiving!!

Your doc probably will.  Just talk to him and explain clearly why you feel you need more time off.

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR.  If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor.  Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me.  If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her.    Check out my blog.

My doc originally wanted me out for six weeks, but wrote my note to return for 3 and a half weeks.... I'm hoping he'll extend it for four and a half weeks with half-time as needed for the following week.

*sigh*

 1. I start a new job tomorow making more money than my lost job and with more hours. Also, I only ended up being unemployed for two weeks. Not bad at all!

2. I may not be losing weight right now, but I am certainly not gaining weight and that is something to be thankful for!

3. I have finally gotten over a personal fear of mine and am learning to drive!

4. Today, I completed my assigned reading for the week for my online class. Now all I have left is to do is a simple assignment that isn't yet available. Yay for not procrastinating!

5. I cleaned today so I won't have to come home to a dirty house after a day at work!

Kelly,
I'm so happy you are getting treatment that will help you and that your cat is in remission.

1. I'm so grateful for my RNY which had given me back a healthy body, gotten off all my meds and given the ability to do things like take a nice long walk with my husband on this beautiful spring day.

2.  I am grateful for all the doctors and specialists who have been there and taken care of my sons so they both can become healthy and able to to the things they love.

3.  I am grateful for my husband and I both having stable, good jobs and the insurance the job provides which paid and is still paying for all of the above.

4. I am grateful for my sons, which while they can be trials at times, are still two of the most important people in my life.

5.  I am grateful for our dog and cat who give us unlimited love and joy.

6. I am grateful to see the sun again and blue skies after a winter full of rain.  I am grateful for that rain which has made my garden bloom and has brought an end to our drought.

7. I am most especially grateful for my husband who has stood with me through thick and thin, a constant source of support, my best friend, who I will be celebrating 26 years of wonderful marriage later this month.

I am very lucky to have so much.

1.) I am grateful, very grateful, to be here and breathing today. Six months ago it did not look like that would be the case.

2.) I am glad that I had a week alone with my hubby at the ocean a couple of weeks ago, we really needed it and it was the first time I had slept through the night in months.

3.) My two daughters are both intelligent, beautiful, caring human beings and it has been an honor to be their mother.

4.) Too many NSV's to list: crossing legs, sitting in restaraunt booths, going up stairs without pain and actually being able to carry heavy objects while doing so, being able to walk several miles at a time (when I can get my lazy backside off the chair in front of the computer), being able to shop in "regular size" clothing stores, I could go on and on and on.

5.) My favorite 6 months of the year are ahead of us!!!!

6.) My spritual relationship has grown exponentially over the last couple of years.

What a wonderful thread, Kelly!

1. I am thankful for friends and family that are supportive and loving. Without them, I'm not sure if I would be where I am today!

2. I am thankful for my health. I have some cronic pain issues, but I know there are people with much worse problems, and I know God has a plan for my life!

3. I am thankful that my insurance paid 90% of my life changing RNY.

I am so very blessed and lucky!

1. I won the "Parent Lottery"- My parents are simply amazing people... I couldn't have better parents than I do!
2. After many years of consciously NOT settling for "just any man", I've found someone who is truly my partner.  We've had a great year and a half together so far... and hopefully we'll have many more years to come!  He accepted me at my biggest and he constantly expresses his amazement at how "skinny" I'm getting.  Though he wasn't totally supportive of the idea of surgery, he has totally supported me in my decision.
3. I am not at risk of losing my home to foreclosure- even if my pay and hours get cut as our Board of Supervisors wants.
4. My insurance covered the bulk of my surgery costs and I have an amazing surgeon!
5. I'm getting money back from both State and Federal taxes.  Yes, I realize it was my money to begin with... but I'm happy I don't owe any more!
6. I'm happy to know that my former foster daughter is still alive.  She dropped out of my life unexpectedly about 3 years ago (likely due to her drug addiction).  She showed up on my doorstep earlier this week- she had hitchhiked into town & I was the person she turned to for help.  I'm heartbroken about her life cir****tances, but thankful she's alive.
7. Soooo many more blessings... too many to list here!
