early waking insomnia

So with 3 days and a wake up to go (no, I don't count today because I'm already IN today) I have welcomed the return of my old frenemy, early waking insomnia. Waking at 3a, 4a, 5a.... anything that is maddeningly too close to when the alarm goes off to be able to go back to sleep. And this is me with Ambien. Nightly. Ugh! I know it's just temporary & a reaction to excitement/stress before surgery. So it'll pass. Maybe I'll try to take the Ambien later and see if that works. I do get 8 hrs of sleep, thanks to the Ambien, but I would rather stay in bed with DH like normal people..... oh, well. If that's the worst thing I have to complain about, then I don't have much to complain about.
WOOOOO HOOOOO!!! Surgery's on TUESDAY and I"m SOOOOO EXCITED! Can ya tell?

Insomnia will be replaced with, "i can't get comfy enough to GO to sleep , much less STAY asleep," But the lbs will be disappearing. Good luck to you. I have to admit, I bought a scale yesterday and I really like seeing my ticker move. So I ave been posting like a mad woman. i think I am over it now. Good luck to you, I will pray for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery. Huggs!

I thought I was the only one that counted that way!  3 and a wake up, can you believe it?  The Ativan they prescribed me seems to really be helping with the anxiety and sleep issues.  I think the night before surgery is going to be the worst for anxiety/sleep issues.

Are you ready?  I know I sure am!

OK, here's the secret to why I phrase it that way - I used to intern in a women's prison (I'm a psychotherapist now) and that's how women used to refer to the countdown before their release. Isn't that sick?

I am on Ambien and I have terrible insomnia, still. It worked well in the beginning, but now I wake up within 2 1/2 to 3 hours after taking it. I hope that it doesnt do the same for you.
I only strive to be, the kind of person my dogs think I am!
