Wish me luck.....I start my 2 week pre-op liquid diet tomorrow.  I am excited that my May 4th surgery is coming quickly, but I am dreading the next 2 weeks on liquids.  Anybody have any tips to make it easier?

Best advice I got was to chew sugar free gum! It helps curb the hungryness. You of course cant chew it after surgery but my doc said I could before!! Best wishes it gts easier after the first few days!!!!

TOns of liquids. Keep drinking at every moment. You'll pee forever but it's good to keep the mind and mouth busy. I did organic chicken broth alot & s/f ice pops. And blogged daily. Good luck!

I am on day 9 of my 3 week pre op diet.  I drink tons of water with sugar free mixes.  I am on my 5th bottle of 32 oz today.  I also do a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch and can have a lean cuisine or chicken or fish for lunch.  I found that chicken or beef broth with garlic powder and red pepper falkes is more filling.

Now I will be honest and say I have cheated a little, but that was this past weekend and I don't intend to let it happen again.  I didn't really have to start my diet until yesterday, so I am not going to beat mysef up too much over it.

Sugar free jello and sugar free popsicles have been recommended, but I get tired of the sweet taste of everything all the time.  Good luck!!!

I just wanted to wish you luck! I started my diet today. Shake for breakfast and lunch. Lean Cusine for dinner. My surgery is on the 3rd. Breakfast was easy, bu****ching everyone else eat lunch was really hard! I had to go into the other room while they ate. I have a feeling that this is going to be the longest 14 days of my life.

Good luck to you!  I have two weeks of carnation instant breakfast...no lean cuisines or smart ones.  It'll be worth it but I'm not looking forward to it.  Write about it and let us know how it's going.

I am on day 9 as well.  I have been drinking a lot of caffine free hot tea.  I also plan  my meals( shakes)  every 2-3 hours.  Stay busy.  This is a great time to start a 2 week long project.   Stay out of the house as much as possible.   It hasn't been as bad as I thought.  Good luck
