Antidote for the FOAMIES

Oooooo.... do I hate those FOAMIES!!!  I had a bad incident of the foamies yestereday.  I have no idea of what triggered it.

But I had some peppermint and shortly after sucking one, the foamies went away.

I think I'll keep peppermints on hand to deal with the next... Attack of the Foamies!

Does anyone else have a remedy for the foamies?

I get the foamies when I drink milk out of the jug.
My wife has been mad at me for drinking milk out of the jug for 27 years.
Now..I have to get a glass!

hmm, I'll have to try that next time. I remember one time, I had foamies after I had a scrambled egg with feta and spinach in it. it definitely WAS NOT fun!

Please forgive my ignorance... but when you say peppermints- do you mean those red and white hard candies?

If so, does the sugar cause you any problems?

OK, this is going to be a long explanation, but, I'll make it as short as possible.

Yes, after 2 1/2 years post op, I am now with yhe regular pepermints.  Lifesavers, red/white peppermints, any type.  I used to chew gum, but with the rapid loss of 130 pounds, there was a type of shifting with my gums and I injured a 7-year root canal.  The root canal has healed, but I realized the problem was from chewing gum.

Even though I am no longer obese or overweight, the oral fixation remains.  Chewing gum was effective for me, but now, I have to not put excessive pressure on my old root canal.

So, I am careful to limit my intake of peppermints.

papaya enzymes help me with foamies and if I get something stuck.  It helps digest protiens and carbs.  I take them everywhere with me.  Plus, they taste like candy:)

Pinneapple juice works for me.  My husband and I went on a trip for our anniversary and I was 1 month out.  The food was very unfriendly to my pouch but a couple of sips of pineapple juice made the foamies and discomfort disappear.
