Hospital Bill

Mine was 33K and my portion of the bill was a bit over $1400 ... total out of pocket between doctor, hospital and a couple of others was $1750.

Shocking to see these $$$ all over the place...then again, probably not.  Mine was $31,000 for a 2 day stay and my out of pocket was $25. 

Were y'all staying in some fancy four-star hospital? My bill was (only?) $30,000 for 4 days. Anes. was $1200 and doc was around $5000.

I am a single mom with 2 spawn (yeah, I said it! they're teenagers...) and went for years without insurance for me. One broken arm and $35,000 later, and I'm in bankruptcy. That's all it took- a broken arm.
 
I am so grateful EVERY DAY that I have health insurance coverage now!

 Wow! I was at a really great hospital with an amazing surgeon and I thought my $44k bill was high! Like everyone else, I am SO greatful for my amazing insurance. I didn't have to pay a dime. :) Though, I was certainly sweating until they sent me the benefits explanation saying that they'd paid it all. That paper they make you sign saying that you'll pay for everything the hospital doesn't can really make you nervous!

My hospital bill alone was $22,000 with a $50 co-pay. My surgeon charges self pay people $16,500 with hospital included, so I guess insurance claims are submitted differently.

mine was 53,000+ and hubbys was 59,000+ we paid out of pocket total for both with all pre tests etc about 1800.00 not bad for a new healthier life.

I am so glad I went to Mexico!!!! I had a great surgeon who did not charge extra for all the complications I had. Travel and all was around 13,500. I can't imagine having to pay the prices the states charge.
