Beware the holiday pounds !
My family celebrated Thanksgiving this past weekend because more of our college aged retail workers could be here. None of them can get off on Black Friday ! Any way, I did not eat too much at any one time, but I grazed.....a bite here, a bite there....you know the routine.
I weigh every Monday morning on the scales in our nurses office (I work at a school) and I had gained 1 and 1/2 lbs! I have not gained ANY weight in a week since surgery a year ago....some weeks I would stay the same, but this is the first time that I have gained! Back on track today but will definetly be more aware on Thursday when I give thanks for my wonderful life with different family members.
I hope each and everyone of you have a blessed Thanksgiving !!

3500 calories may equal llb for someone who has a kick-ass metabolism, but I'd be surprised if too many of us here are that efficient.
Someone early out from WLS (1 year +) has been used to living on 1000 calories or so a day and so they will be lucky if their metabolism is at a basic rate of 1500 calories or so (which is what most of us end up at for maintenance). It is entirely possible to graze your way through several hundred or a thousand extra calories of holiday carbs which may well equate to putting on a lb or two over a couple of days!
I do, however, agree that if you get back on plan straight afterwards upping protein and reducing carbs, the weight should fall off fairly quickly. It's gets a bit more difficult the further out from surgery you get!!!!

Be thankful for the wonderful day spent with your family. A few holiday meals will not cause you to gain back all the weight you lost. You said you're back on track, so you will be fine.
Last year at this time, I was 2 years out. I ate pretty much anything and everything from Thanksgiving until New Years. And I gained 10 pounds (which I did lose again). I won't let that happen again this year.

I'll lose about 5 pounds on thanksgiving day. Then I will eat what I want. Running a Half marathon has it's rewards.
