Average weightloss after Surgery

Hello.  I am 7 weeks out and have been wondering what the average weightloss is.  I lost alot up front but have slowed down considerably.  Any ideas as to why?  I have lost 40 pounds in 7 weeks.  start weight 340..current weight 299.

your body will go through adjustment periods.  at least mine did.  I would lose a chunk and then sit at a weight for a bit...sometimes weeks.  And then bam the loss would kick in again.

It varies from person to person.  Everyone is different...different genetics, pre surgery weight, activity level, eating habit, etc.... I was a slow buy steady loser.  I averaged 8 to 10 pounds per month while in the active losing stage.  For me it was slow  but steady.

Be sure to put your surgery weight in where it asks for your weight.

You've lost an average of almost 6 pounds per week... an average loss of 5 pounds per week is considered fast. Yes, your body will start to slow the loss a bit - that's going to be necessary to keep you from damaging organs and body structure. Sometimes it will even stop losing a week or two (or, in some cases 3 or more) to "consolidate" your losses. Just keep following your plan, and it WILL come off.
