I have diverticulitis, but didn't develop it until after my surgery. Not sure if the surgery had anything to do with developing it, no one seems to have an answer for me on that. Good luck with it all!
My grandma has it (non op). She saw a surgeon to possibly have it fixed and he told her to eat yogurt with oat bran mixed in. She hasn't had a flare up since and it has been 3 years. She used to have attacks at least once a month.
