Heart Burn

For the past several weeks I have been experiencing some pretty intense heart burn. Its not consistent with the time of day it arrives or with certain foods, very spuratic with its apperance.  So I started cutting things out of my diet, no spicy foods, etc etc.  Called the Dr. last week and they said to start Prilosec again.  So for the past 5 days I have been taking 20mg twice daily.  I am having to take it sooner than 12 hours into the first dose as the heartburn returns.

I am almost 10 mos out from my RNY.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would let your doctor that it's not working and he can prescribe something stronger.  I take nexium and when I'm out, I buy prilosec but I notice it doesn't work as good as nexium.  If you take nexium once a day, you shouldn't have anymore heartburn or reflux.  good luck!!

I didn't think people had heartburn after RNY.  I've been told that I might have an ulcer and I've never had heartburn or reflux since my surgery.
