How much is in a scoop?
RNY on 05/29/12 with
I have pouches of Champion Protein Meal Replacement shakes and normally you would use the whole pouch for 1 shake for 41 grams of protein, which is way too much right now.
I want to try to make a protein shake with just a "scoop" of the protein powder mixed in with a SF hot chocolate or something along those lines.
What size "scoop" should I use? 1/4-cup? More? Less? and then I have to figure out the protein and calories per "scoop". . . .
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Thank you! I dumped it in a measuring cup and it was 6 oz, so I used 3 oz in my SF hot chocolate for a 20 gram drink! :)

Measure out how much is in a pouch. I'm guessing maybe 1/4 to 1/3 cup. And I would aim to use half of it in a drink...that'll give your 20 grams of protein, slightly less than is in many shake mixes, but respectable enough that if you can 2 in per day, you've ony 24 or so to go with other foods.
My protein goals are 65-60 a day, so I try to make meals at least 20.

It was 3/4 cup or 6 oz of powder when I dumped it into a measuring cup, so I used 3 oz in my hot chocolate to make a 20 gm drink. . .now, if I can just fini**** tonight I will be good.
I'm 6 days out so I'm sip, sip, sipping and this is my 2nd protein drink of the day. I knew I couldn't do a whole pouch so I wanted to figure out how to make the drinks smaller, but with enough protein.
