low bp high pulse

I have a call into my doc AND I looked up info in the search area, learned a lot.
I have always had high BP and without medication my pulse rate would at times be 130-170 resting.
Before my band I started taking Atenonol to control my heart rate , along with the BP meds I was already on.
Ever since Bypass , I have been weak in the mornings, I chalked it up to recovering from surgery, well I recovered , and the weakness persisted, I chalked it up to not doing much for 2 years. Some days I could shower in the morning and get part of my make-up on then have to slip something on and go sit down
I never really thought of my BP because it was always high/normal when I would be at the docs
Somedays I couldn't even get that far.
Saturday I got the bright idea to check my BP before my shower sitting and it was 101/60 pulse 100...standing after my shower it would go down by about 10 points but my pulse would raise about 10 points

I didn't take my atenonol ( which is all I am on . 25mg. 2x a day) Saturday or Sunday , kept an eye on BP , didn't take it this A.M. because it was low again , but after lunch was high 3 hrs after eating it was still high so I took a BP med.

When I go out to the grocery store if I have to exert myself or stand for long periods of time , I am a gonner , on Friday at Sam's club I couldn't even put my stuff on the conveyor belt and had to st while my groceries were rung up ( it was VERY HOT in the store , had to have someone take everything to the car ,and had to sit for 10 mins with the air on before I could drive home

I feel hot and tingly but my skin is cold....
Thanks for listening !!

I don't know the answer, but I empathize. I always have very normal BP, but a higher pulse. In the hospital, they thought it might be a sign of a leakage because my pulse was up in the 130s even though my BP was 90/50 or something low like that. I've been very weak feeling since surgery, tire easily, and get almost "hot flashes" where I feel really hot and sweaty, even though my skin is cold. I'm only 2 weeks post op, so I've been chalking it up to recovery mixed with my tendency for normal BP, higher pulse, but I'll be curious to hear what you learn.

that is exactly how I feel when I am at the store , like a big hot flash , sweaty , but cold to the touch.
What is so hard is the morning shower/make-up/dress/make bed/clean bedroom what used to take 45 mins now takes several hours, if it gets done at all. I'm the type to get the work done in the back of the house , and not have to go back to it the rest of the day. But I give up when I feel like I am going to pass out and I start to sweat and start to see spots...then Immmm done !!
Without meds my BP is all over the place and pulse is high...I wish I knew what made a resting pulse rate high, I probably should have figured that out when it started years ago instead of dealing with it with meds
If I find anything out I will let you know as it sounds like you may be dealing with the same issues

65 Roses,
I started drinking bullion cube in water today and BP is up and I feel MUCH better , but time will tell.
You may need meds for your pulse , that really isn't good to have it consistantly high , magnesium may help that though , do you have a BP monitor? if not you should get one so you can track your BP and pulse

Glad you are feeling better!!   I'll try some unjury chicken soup today and see what happens.   I found out I have thrush on my tongue today, I wonder if that is related.   Taken meds for that -- oh so fun!!!

Shouldn't be related at all . I had thrush for 2 YEARS after my band , knew what it was after Bypass so got on Nystatin right away.
I am not sure the chicken soup has enough sodium in it to help, but you can do the power aid 0 that might help too. I just need to remember to have all this throughout the day !!! don't leave home without it !!

I can't say for sure, but in the hospital we treat patients with problems like this by bolusing them with fluids. You could be dehydrated. How have your labs looked? (I'm a nurse and I work with the bariatric patients post surgery)

labs are great except B12 is to high , I drink 2-4 32  oz. of water a day , never had an issue with fluids.
I have a sneaking suspicion that it may have something to do with potassium / sodium , I eat very little salt. I think I will have some chicken bullion tonight , possibly have some ready for in the morning .
I sure thought this would be gone by now , and I have gotten it confused with taking pain meds for knees and hip... it is all so confusing, but 4.5 months is enough.
I used to be such a morning person , now  the BARE minimum is getting done and some days , I don't even get dressed..so not like me

I've got nothing in terms of advice, but take care and keep us posted.

i had low bp recently and got a ton of iv fluids. my bp was 80/50. for me, 100/70 is normal, but since it's not for you and it's causing you issues then i guess it would be considered low.

since you are on meds, you may want to call your doc to see if it needs to get adjusted.
