I slept on my side 2 days post op. I just found a position until it was comfortable. You could use a pillow propped under your mid-section to help support if you want, but I didn't have any problems sleeping on my side.

You lucky girl! If you can sleep on your side go for it!! I slept propped up on the couch for 3 weeks. I hated every minute of it but just couldn't lay down in bed.

It's OK to sleep in whatever position feels comfortable for you.

Here is what I found easiest. Laying on left side, bring right leg up so right knee is at 90 degrees or more bent. If  laying on left side, bring up left knee into like position.  This position also helps you expell gas easily when needed. DAVE

I was sleeping on my side part of the time in the hospital,  I have back pain if I  sleep on my back.  I think you should sleep in whatever position feels best for you.

PS We ahve the same surgery date 09/18/12   :)

I feel your pain girl.  I'm a stomach sleeper so this back sleeping is for the dogs.  I tried night before last to sleep on my side and woke up with my leg all crazy cramped and couldn't hardly walk on it lol.  I'm going to try again this weekend.

I slept on my back for 2 weeks because I was so sore I couldnt take the pressure on my incisions. I had to use my pain meds the whole time because my back was worn out.
