Can I eat a slice of cheese when I am on a pureed diet?  I eat it on my eggs in morning when I melt it but can I eat it regulal way?

I would say probably not, unless maybe you chewed it until it was liquid in your mouth...

I am surprised you are allowed eggs OR melted cheese on a puréed diet, but I never had one so what do I know?!?  Eggs and even cottage cheese were considered soft foods on my surgeon's plan.

Scrambled eggs, mashed with a fork, were allowed on my pureed diet, but the only cheese allowed was cottage cheese or ricotta.  I'd say a slice of cheese is no.

I would agree, no sliced cheese yet. When I was doing pureed foods, my nutritionist said, if you cant suck it through a straw, dont put it in your pouch.  Remember the food restrictions are so your body can heal.  They just did some major slicing and dicing in there, and you need to give it a chance to heal up really well.  Cheese will come...later.

Hang in there!

The Laughing cow cheese wedges are very soft. I ate the swiss cheese ones on the puree diet and they agreed with me.

i'm pretty sure i was allowed to, but i also wasn't on purees very long. they let me progress pretty quick since i didn't have any problems with things agreeing with me, and my surgeon seems to progress people quicker in general then a lot of what i've seen on here. really, it all depends on your surgeon's plan for you.

All I ate on the puréed stage was scrambled eggs and lots of cheese since doc said I could eat it and chew it well without having to purée it.  I've had no problems with cheese
