waiting.....

Just had my first consultation with the surgeon. He will submit the request to the insurance today. How long did it take for your approval?

I had my answer within 2 weeks. I knew I was approved when the Surgeons office called me to schedule my surgery!!!  I still remember how excited I was that day!

about a week, but i had to wait over a weekend. probably would have been 4 days ish if you don't count the weekend.

Took me a month to get intial approval. Then had testing done, then less than 2wks to get final approval. From start to finish including my mandatory weigh****chers for 3 mos, it took me. 10mos. Had my surgery 10/12.

 Approval may be fast, however there are other doctors and appointment schedules you will have to navigate through until you will be approved for surgery.

There is a psych eval, cardiology tests & clearance, pulmonologist tests & clearance, nutrition counseling requirements...it's all those tests and visits that take time.

My insurance covered it, but it took 3 months to get all that done.

I already did 6 months of nutrition counseling and did my psych evaluation.  I will have a pre-op nutrition class tomorrow morning.  I was wondering if I was going to have to take any other test.  I just want time to past by quick because I feel like I have been working hard for this for a LONG time! lol
