One year surgi-versary... 180 pounds later....

A year ago today, I underwent an RNY. I have since lost 180 pounds and I am running a 5K next month.

Would I do it again? For my children? Yes, I would in a heartbeat. Would I do it for me? I am not sure. I have permanantly changed my relationship with food and vitamins in a way that is not pleasurable for me... but then again, I didn't do it for me.

Amazing!! I love seeing stories like yours...it gives me hope! Thanks so much for posting....my 9 y.o. daughter is doing her first 5k this December...my goal is to do it with her next December! :)

I'm curious as to why you aren't sure whether you would do it again, for yourself? I am not scheduled yet, in process, but it's statements like these that make me nervous! Just curious...

Fabulous!! My highest weight was also 340 pounds. I love to see us former heavyweights doing well. You and your daughter are both beautiful. My kids are Asian and my boyfriend is black. I love seeing other multi-cultural families.
