Chef Dave

Has anyone used any of Chef Dave Fouts' cookbooks?  What did you like or dislike about them?  Are the recipes "normal" or were they gourmet type recipes?

I bought the book at an OH Convention in Dallas a couple of years ago.  They have some good looking recipes in there but I've never made any of them because most are gourmet type.  I prefer simple.  I actually bought the book knowing I'd probably never use it except to add to my "cookbook collection".
