Birth Control

I am afraid to go back on birth control pills.

I am afraid that the 20 pounds that the doctors say "is a myth" but almost every woman I know has gained when starting a new pill will jump back on me.  I also do not need my breasts to go up a cup size.

Could someone that restarted birth control pills after surgery please share their experience?

I never gained on the pill and I didn't go up a cup size (though I sure wish I would have!)  I do know, however, that you are extremely fertile following surgery so birth control in whatever form you choose is a must!

Have you looked into other options?  I have done the patch and the ring in the past.  The patch made me really *****y but the ring was good!

Oh, didn't even think about that.  It's not something I have to worry about anymore :)

I heard that as well. So i asked the NP at the weight loss center and she told me I would be fine using the pill. But of course to use a backup method for the first month taking the pill.

I get the Depro shot 1x every 3 months. So far so good!

NuvaRing was my doctor's recommendation because of the inability to absorb oral BC pills.

I started taking the pill just days after surgery. It works for me and keeps me regular, no weight gain here.
