All food has lost it's appeal

I'm two weeks post op. I am on puréed foods and we had a stomach bug but even before that all food has lost it's appeal. I am tired if broth, shakes, I can't eat chicken, it's a struggle to get protein in and I am only hitting 20g a day if that. Does this pass too? It's hard to rationalize how I went from loving to eat to having no desire to eat.

Softly cooked scrambled eggs, good two percent cottage cheese, quest bars like chocolate brownie well chewed with a little decaf coffee in your mouth, makes it a purée and it is so good and you won't dump.  Good luck to you!

It will pass - and believe it or not, you'll actually miss this time! Part of the psychological in WLS journeys is mourning the loss of food: not being able to eat what we used to, not getting pleasure from eating, not using eating as a coping skill, loosing food as a companion, etc.....

It is important to get protein in, as well as liquids, so for the short term, look at nutrition as your job to do. Figure out what will get your thru, whether it be protein shakes that you gotta plug up your nose just to choke down.... Unjury chicken broth was my salvo during that first month!
