Well I am in my room and feeling pretty good. Not much pain except when breathing deep. I have been on 3 walks and had to have 2 doses of nausea meds. I didn't ask for it immediately so both times I had the dry heaves. Let me tell you, THAT HURTS BAD BAD BAD BAD and I cannot put enough bads in the message. I didn't have have a cath during surgery, but could pee a couple hours ago and got one. I guess the pain meds are pretty good because the cath wasn't as bad as I expected. It felt pretty weird going in and coming out. Hopefully I will be able to pee by midnight otherwise it's another cath. It's not bad as I said, but I am not looking forward to it either.

I don't get to eat until tomorrow but I've been drinking pretty good. I will try to post again tomorrow morning. No turning back now!!!!

Hi Paul,

Glad you posted 8 hrs post-op. I am thinking of having the surgery and usually hear about people weeks later. Good to know you're not having much pain:)

You seem to be doing really well. I was on another planet 24 hours after surgery. My son came to see me early the following morning and I barely remember the visit. He could have used his time better....sweet boy. My hubby was there start to finish and told me what went on and what I said. I was dopey. You sound great. Onward and upward. Every day will be improvement. Keep us posted.

Glad to hear that you are doing and up and walking. Make sure to keep sipping because it's very easy to get dehydrated. The journey is beginning!

Congrats on your surgery.  I'm happy to hear you made it out fine.  I hope your meds help control the nausea.  Dry heaves are painful enough without surgery!
