B12 shot?

Today I have my 2 week follow up visit with the surgeon & the nurse. The nurse is going to show me how to give myself the B12 shots. I know i`m only 2 weeks out, but i`m still so tired! Is this normal? And my husband wonders if the B12 will give me some energy, do you think so? Because I could use some!!!

It is very normal for you to be tired at 2 weeks post-op,your body has been through a major surgery

B12 is not a miracle vitamin and you will NOT get deficient in 2 weeks!!!!!

I don't feel any more energetic after my B12 shot than I do before my shot. If you have a B12 deficiency, increasing your B12 level will increase your energy. It will probably take more than one shot to do that, though. But a B12 shot isn't like, say, a jolt of caffeine that provides instant energy.

I was B deficient and I have gotten shots. For several days after the shot I feel like a whole new person! I have so much energy and I'm in a great mood. I would think tho that if you eat meat (I don't) you wouldn't be deficient this quickly. I read somewhere you can store B vitamins for like a couple of years!
