It's my turn : APPROVED!

So UCLA medical center in Los Angeles does approval a bit backwards. They have you do all of the pre-op work and tests, then you meet with the surgeon and he gives the OK. Then they give you an official surgery date. Then about 10 days before surgery, they submit for approval from insurance.

My surgery was set for march 15 then switched to march 11. 10 days before surgery they submitted to my insurance and found out my insurance was considered "non-credible." We spent the next 2 days getting myself enrolled into the California Pre-existing condition insurance plan. (The enrollment ended 2 days later until 2014!)

Well, I am happy to say that everything worked out. I was enrolled, and my surgery is next Friday. They submitted to my insurance Tuesday and today I got the call that I am approved.

It feels strange. I've been reading people post on here all the time about being approved and I never felt like it would be me. I am so happy!

I'm glad it worked out for you!  I hope you have something to keep you busy til next Friday.  I was a mess just waiting for my first appointment with my bariatric surgeon.  I don't know how I'll manage to occupy myself when I get a date. :D

I do! My mom comes into town tomorrow night. It will be her first time in Los Angeles, so I plan to take her to do a bunch of things. She wants to go to the beach a lot. I also have a wedding this weekend and I am meeting my aunt for the first time.
