Coffee-Mate
Is there anything wrong with using Coffee-Mate Original in my decaf coffee everyday. I used to drink regular coffee with cream pre-op and I miss it. I just recently started drinking coffee again (decaf) but i didn't want to get back in the habit of using cream. Any ideas on a coffee flavored protein drink as well.
i don't know the stats on coffee mate since i just use milk in my coffee but if nothing on the label stands out then i don't see why you can't use it. it does seem to be made of alot of nasty chemicals though. click is a coffee protein powder. i've tried it and its ok. i don't love it, but use it when i want a kick of caffeine in my protein. i'm sure someone will chime in with a protein coffee recipe. or just search protein coffee, you'll find probably hundreds of posts.
When I drink my coffee I use a little bit of almond milk and then syntrax vanilla or cappuccino protien powder for flavoring. I also use truvia for sweetening if need be, this way while I am drinking coffee I also am getting in between 10-23g of protein depending on if I am using a half or whole scoop of powder.
And no I do not always drink decaf, predominently though I do, and I just recently started having reg coffee(1 cup a day) I am now 10.5 months post op.

There's nothing wrong with a little Coffee-Mate.
A little off topic, but I just significantly reduced the amount of decaf I drink each day because I just can't drink it without creamer or half and half. (I drank a LOT of decaf...) I'd rather use those calories for real food, especially since I've been pretty hungry the past couple of weeks. So, I've switched to having only one or two cups of decaf each day, with half and half, and the rest of the time I drink herbal teas or water. I don't drink anything else BUT decaf, herbal teas, and water, so I have significantly reduced my choices and really have had to concentrate to get my daily liquids in.
