partial bowel obstruction?

A little history.  for the past several months I have been having horrendous stomach pains.  They last about 6 hours, come in waves, and then go away.  Been to the ER twice.  Had cat scans and x rays that show nothing.  I did an diagnostic laparoscopy which showed a little scar tissue and a hiatal hernia which was fixed.  That was about a month ago.  The surgeon said he didn't think the hernia was causing the pain and pretty much washed his hands of me.  He said he didn't know what was causing the pain.  That was 1 month ago.  THursday night I ended up lying on the bathroom floor in agony once again.  I refused to go back to the ER.  This time I was also vomiting.  I went to my PCM on Friday morning.  He thinks I have a partial bowel obstruction caused by scar tissue.  I would thought that would have been seen in the diagnostic they did last month.  I have a referral to a GI specialist.  He gave me some Percocet for the pain next time.

What can be done for a reoccurring Partial bowl obstruction.  He seemed to imply surgery wasn't an option as it would create more scar tissue.  This is the worst pain I have ever experienced.  

 

If it's a kink it may come and go, basically in-kinking itself. A partial bowel obstruction can become serious if it totally blocks and kill your intestines.

I disagree with your PCP that surgery isn't an option it MAY be a requirement of course any time you have surgery there are adhesions some have them worse than others.

Please if it gets worse go to the ER. There was a lady I met on OH that passed away from an obstruction. I'm not trying to scare you these can be serious.

Thank you.  The other night I was about to head to the ER, but it got better.  Hopefully the GI DR will have some answers.
