Update!
My surgery was July 23. Woke up in some discomfort more from the gas they used during surgery then anything. I was up walking within a few hours and had my leak test by 5pm. I sipped all night on decaf tea and some yummy broth! My hospital was excellent and I can't brag on them enough.
I was discharged on the 25th and have been doing well at home. My son and I have been walking the cul de sac daily and my liquid diet is just fine. I go to the surgeon on Monday morning and will hopefully be progressed to pureeds.
Thanks for all the info you ladies share. It helped me greatly as I went through surgery!
