Alcohol

It was suggested to me not to have any alcohol for at least a year. I really have no concerns as I don't drink.  I have been at support group meetings and have heard veterans say how easy it can be to switch from food addiction to alcohol. If you do drink I believe wine has alot less sugar than mixed ****tails. Salute !

I had a glass of champagne - not a huge amount of sugar.  It did hit me right away where I got dizzy.  No other stomach issues.

Thanks everyone, I will do my research to make an informed decision for when the time comes. But for now I'd like to wait a full year. But I'm not a big drinker, never was. It wont become a problem for me. I'm just not that into alcohol, lol. ALso, I`ve never had an eating disorder, so using drinks to replace a food addiction isn`t going to be an issue.

Im 13 years postop. If i drink a sip of anything I get extremely drunk. I only like things that are sweet tasting so then i dump so I do not drink. Carbonation Is in wine coolers so i cant drink those. i agree with the person who said when you do try do it at home.
