Heightened sense of smell?

Am I the only one? I swear I'm so much more sensitive to smells ever since my surgery (2 weeks ago) and it seems to be increasing still. Maybe all the food my hubby cooks for him and the kids just smells better because he's cooking and because I can't have it. haha... but its with everything else too. Candles, other good smells, bad smells.... I feel like I'm going crazy! I can smell things nobody else can!

Lol I had the same problem. I could smell garlic everyday. My kids breath smelled when I went in their bedrooms to wake them up. I was grossed out by everything for about a month. I don't notice it anymore and I am 3 months out.

The smell of the protein powder in shakes made it very difficult for me to drink for a few weeks also. It definitely goes back to normal.

It seems like my sense of taste is increased too. The first week and a half or so I had no problem with protein shakes. Now they taste absolutely nasty to me. Nothing really tastes good to me, come to think of it. Everything is either nasty or too sweet.

My nut said my taste would constantly change for about 8 months post op. I had pregnancy nose for the first few weeks. I think it's getting better now in my third week. My husband had to change deodorant. ;) His smelled like flowers all of a sudden.

The only thing I've become sensitive to is my friend's laundry stuff. She doesn't drive, so I take her to and from work. Afternoons are okay but I have to drive with the window down in the morning. I told her I like the fresh air in the morning because I can't tell her that she makes me gag.
