Leaks are a scary thing. I had one after my first surgery, and another after my repair surgery that was done two days later. My second leak began coming out of my incisions and I was back in the hospital for 10 days and could not eat or drink anything. My progress has been slow and at 10 weeks post op I cannot do what others can do 5 days after surgery.

Make sure your father-in-law follows all the doctors orders and I wish him a speedy recovery. I will be praying for him, I know how scary if feels when this happens.

A leak is a rare but terrible complication.  I have seen a surgeon sit and cry over one.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.
