Food Question

I am 6 weeks post-op and released to regular foods.  Is it to soon for sugar free peanut butter on a sandwich thin?  Or would it be better to try on saltine crackers?  Let me know what you think.

I can't actually do bread or crackers. Not allowed on my plan, yet. At 6 weeks, I ate a lot of canned chicken and refried beans.

I was eating saltine crackers and Peanut butter at 4 weeks.  It was on my suggested plan with my Dr.  Sandwich thins were hard for me to handle at 3 months post op.    Saltine crackers are not part of my regular diet now(2.5 yrs post op)  but they went down well the first few weeks.

What is on your suggested food list.  All drs are different.,

Bread may make your pouch revolt because it gets "gummy" (especially with PB!), so just  a cracker or two would be better. What about the PB just eaten off a spoon with NO carbs in crackers/bread??

That was the advice given to me by my nutritionist.

I probably wouldn't choose either at 6 weeks post op, but if you are going to, you will probably find crackers a lot easier than bread.   I still have a problem with bread now and then ... which is one of the reasons why I rarely eat it!

I was told by my nutritionist no peanut butter until 10weeks or bread or pastas but like they say all of them have different opinions. I'm 3 weeks postoperative and can't stomach even eggs right now so I am trying to deal still

I barely ever eat bread. Does not sit well. I handle it better when it's toasted.

Thanks everyone, I did toast it and it did taste so good!  I have been able to tolerate eggs for the last few weeks.  Makes me wonder if he took off enough of my iron glad stomach lol.  I haven't allowed myself much carbs at all.

Hi,

i eat eggs all of the time, never had a problem with them. I eat pb with a spoons sometimes. I also eat pb with 4 crackers. Only 4 is on my plan. I haven't had bread yet. I don't plan to until I lose my weight I guess.
