I NEVER want to see another piece of chicken

Ugh! I am six weeks out, frustrated because I'm in a stall and between sizes, and just now I spent a good twenty minutes throwing up the chicken I thought I'd eat for dinner. I am still incredibly grateful for this surgery, and wouldn't change a thing. I knew stalls would happen, and it wouldn't all get better overnight, but the chicken was just kind of the last straw for today.

Thank you all for letting me share, and tomorrow WILL be a better day!

Did you chew it enough ? Was the chicken too dry maybe ?? I've heard others who have this problem say they put something on it to moisten it up a bit

Gosh, I"m sorry your having a rough day.  I'm having some trouble with chicken right now myself.  Was it chicken breast?  It was suggested to me today to try maybe chicken thighs instead of white meat as it's not as dry.  I normally don't like dark meat but I think I might try this as I"m really feeling icky after eating chicken breast.

MANY people struggle for a long time with chicken for some reason (I had it at 2 weeks post-op and never had an issue... Until I ate some dry chicken too fast at 18 months out and threw up for the first time!), so you are definitely not alone.

I ate so many scrambled eggs and cottage cheese during the first few months, that I later went probably a full year without eating either of those items again!

hang in there.

At one point or another I threw up everything it seems. Beef and fish (believe it or not) were my number one culprits. I tossed chicken too, but not frequently. That's a good thing since it's always been my favorite food.

I wasn't "cleared" for chicken until 12 weeks out.

Don't give up on it forever :-)  It will get better!!

I still can't eat chicken....or salmon...turkey is easier for me. and, I once had just a bite of duck, which kind of worked....fortunately that is not a frequent item...

Chicken was hard for me to eat for a long time. White meat, that is. Dark meat settled well because it is juicier and less dense, I guess. Good luck!
