Sugar caused exhaustion?

I ate a one inch by two inch piece of party cake for my child's birthday. About 20 minutes later I felt exhausted and napped for three hours.  Is this because of sugar?
This is the only time I have done it and I don't plan on doing it again except for her birthday once a year but I will maybe fake eating it next year because I lost half a day.

We call it a carb coma.   It's like a stage before dumping ...

Thanks for answering her Kim, I didn't know what it was and was curious.

I get that with the dumping.  Its so overpowering.  It hasnt' happened in awhile, but I'm careful to avoid anything that might bring it on.

I get that and super queasy and feel awful.  This is why I use the three bite rule for cakes and sweets to avoid too much sugar.

O yea. Carb coma.  Been there done that.  As Kim said -  One step before dumping. Dumping is really bad.
