NSV PR for a 1/2 Marathon
I ran my 2nd 1/2 Marathon today. I ran it in 1 hour, 56 minutes at a pace of 8:54/mile. This is around 7 minutes better than when I ran it last year. This is a huge NSV, I know when I was close to 350 pounds the thought of running ANY DISTANCE just seemed impossible. Still, as I was losing the weight I got into running. I did several 5K's then worked up to a 10K, then last year my 1st half marathon. One memorable point today was that around mile 7 I was going along and all the sudden started passing people by running...I actually welled up a little...Thankful to have had this surgery and a chance at a new life!!!!

Bill, Congratulations!!!! That is very exciting!!! You are doing amazing!
On Saturday, I ran 5K with my husband who was pushing our two little girls in a stroller. I ran all but about 3-4 minutes after a few hills that were a little more challenging than when I started. I welled up when I crossed the finish line @ 40:18 ! Here's to an active life! Cheers! Congratulations!

This is SO wonderful to read and I am so glad you posted this here vs. the exercise forum. It is fabulous for others to see such amazing success! I envy your time--I am hoping to do a blended rate of 12 minutes a mile in my first half, so 8:54 sounds like someone zipping by on a bike, lol! GOOD FOR YOU!!
WHOO HOO!!
