Gallbladder out a week ago, still hurting

I have my follow up with my surgeon tomorrow, but I was just wondering if anyone else that had their gallbladder removed had pain this long?

Sorry you are still in pain after having the surgery one week ago.  Yes, I was in your shoes! I was in pain for well over 3 weeks - but the surgeon nicked my liver while in there, so I think w/ that complication, came the additional pain.

I had mine out on tuesday and it still hurts. I also have this burning feeling. Is that normal?

I had pain for about three weeks (but only required opiate meds for about a week), but I had one incision that was an inch and a half long instead of the typical half inch.

I  guess I am not sure why you think a week is too long to hurt from surgery.  MOST of my lap surgeries hurt some for longer than that.  The holes may be little, but you still had an organ cut out, muscles cut, and general trauma to the area around the gallbladder!  Heck, it takes a week for a very large bruise to stop hurting!
