Driving

I know we must wait until we are of pain meds before driving, but I'm curious how long most of you had to wait to drive again?  Thanks in advance the any replies!

I had surgery on Wednesday. Took my last pain medicine Friday night. Just took Tylenol on Saturday. They said I had to wait 24 hours, but I waited until after I saw the doctor for my post-op appointment on Monday. Laid low over the weekend and wasn't up for it...

Wow, you're doing great congrats! 

It was three days for me. I stopped meds after one day and had a day to clear my head. I couldn't have made a long drive but I went into the office for a while and commuting was ok.

I was never on pain meds and started driving after 2nd week....the anaesthetic and low calories made me so slow that in one day I ran into the car in front of me and on my way home took the corner of the driveway too tight and took off the fender....my husband took the car keys away and I waited another week!

I was off pain meds in three days, but pretty much laid low. I waited a full two weeks to drive ( I had my adult kids and husband take me anywhere I needed to go).

I didn't take any pain meds once I got home from the hospital. I didn't actually go anywhere for a week because I was too tired, but a week after surgery I drove myself to the store. 

It took me 2 weeks to be completely off pain meds, so I drove after 2 weeks.  Uber was my friend.

I had surgery on a Thursday but by the next Friday, I drove myself to have my drain removed.  I was three days without pain meds before I drove.
