nausea and vitamins

so I'll be 3 months post op on the 17th of this month and I've had nonstop nausea up until 3 days ago.... I have been trying to rule things out such as dehydration etc and finally wondered if it was my vitamins. I asked my surgeon and was told to stop taking them for 3-4 days to see if it was the vitamins or not. Lo and behold, no vitamins for the last 3 days and no nausea. So, now that we have figured it out, what????? Because I HAVE to take my vitamins for the rest of my life. I'll call my surgeon on Monday with the results, but what do you think I can do??? I've taken them both with food and without with no difference in nausea onset. 

Vitamins sitting in your stomach is often the cause of nausea. Take them with a lot of water to flush them through and into your intestines as quickly as possible, and it should alleviate the nausea.

I've been working on getting my DH to take vitamins but he complains about nausea, too.  Thanks to this post, I now have to:  #1 apologize for telling him it's in his head #2 tell him to try again flushing the vitamin with lots of water.  Husbands--they are so much work.

Try different ones - maybe chewables that you then flush through with water.  But letting them sit in your pouch will often cause nausea.  Plenty of different brands to try!  Good luck find ing the ones that work for you.  

Do you happen to take iron separately from your multi? Iron makes me instantaneously nauseous unless I take a high dose of vitamin C with it. I also have to switch iron brands every six months or so to keep the nausea at bay. 

For very long time post op ( a few years) and multi in a pill, or B-complex would give me nausea. 

I was using chewables for app 5-6 years. This year my pouch tolerates small multi in a pill. Most of the time. 

I used to use either centrum silver multi chewable, or CVS brand (much cheaper) chewable.  You got to do what you got to do...
