I know a lot of ppl returned in a couple weeks for a desk job, but I do housekeeping. I know there is no lifting for a certain amount of time, but what about bending? Anyone out there have any info?

I was pretty much back to normal at 2 weeks. I had to take rest breaks I've never done before. No lifting over 10 lbs, I think. I have a pretty physical job and I was fine!

I replied earlier, but OH seems to have eaten it, so I'll try again. Definitely ask your doc, but mine said no lifting over 15 lbs for 4 weeks. However, he wants me to join a gym and start weight training at 4 weeks, so apparently I'm supposed to go from 0 to 60 in no time flat, lol.

You will have some pain when bending over.  It took me a good month before I could bend over completely to pick things up.  I could feel the pulling in my abdomen when I would try before then.

I would ask your doctor to be sure.

I am three weeks out and bending over is still hard for me. I've already pulled a muscle in my stomach after a coughing attack and I know that I've torn some internal stitches. I reached for something and heard/felt some popping inside and have been paying for it this last week.  My dr put my on a 20lb limit until after week 4.

Be really careful. Talk to your doctors to see what they think.

Good luck!

My doctor said no lifting, pushing or pulling anything over 10 lbs for six weeks.  I went back to a desk job after 3 weeks, and was tired all day for awhile.  I didn't feel up to cleaning my own house for about a month!

GOAL REACHED! 170 lbs lost...
