24hra post op and the gas in my abdomen is killing me. It's freezing rain out so walking the block isn't an option, but I have been walking randomly around the house with no relief. Sitting hurts, laying down hurts, standing hurts. Haaaalp!

Try some Gas X strips.  They helped me!  Edited:  If you mean abdominal gas.  If it's the gas from surgery and it feels like it's in your shoulders, then try a heating pad - and walking as much as you can.  Sorry!  Know that it will get better!

Me tooooooo!  It's like the most horrendous stabbing pain in my left shoulder and neck. I took a hot shower, back facing the water of course, and let the water run down my neck and shoulder, that helped a little.  I did notice a difference with the heating pad and walking, but if I sit too long, bam, it hurts again.  Arrrrgh! I tried a gas strip and laying on my side so gas could easily escape, iow farting helps. Good luck and God Bless!  Ps, my RNY was on Monday the 21st.

Yep, looks like they were right, walking does help.  How's your gasses?

Pretend you are swimming. Sit in chair and move your arms like you are swimming . Helps release gas

Ugh I feel your pain!! My surgery was also Monday. I am so torn because I am feeling exhausted and many are telling me to rest but then others are saying walk as much as possible. When the pain is really bad, I walk and then take some pain meds and get immediate relief. Im also just sleeping as much as I want. I do feel somuch better each day and I hope you do too :-)
