Can you eat the little cans of pre mixed tuna (minus the crackers) and not get sick/dump? I'm hoping to eat these when I get to the soft foods stage.

I would check the nutritionals on them. Prepackaged can add extra sugar etc but I haven't looked at those labels.

I do plain tuna with 1 tbl hummus and 1/2tbl of sweet relish

I'm hoping to take these on a trip this summer when I will be about 6 weeks post op. I'd love to hear thoughts on the nutrition profile.

Be sure to try this before your trip.  I had very few problems post-op with most foods -- but tuna was the bane of my existence until nearly 6 months out.  It always caused me distress -- and I am not sure why.

Hopefully you will be different -- but do try it -- and really any food as you add back in -- at home before being trapped traveling.

Instead of those I would suggest the packets. Easier to pack, tins of flavorsand better bang for your buck all around.

I looked at the nutritionals on your link. If I looked at the right thing, it doesn't look bad to me. 14g protein, for 100 calories is a good ratio. Yes, there is a little bit of carbs in it, but not a lot.

The packet looked pretty good though the link you provided.

My favorite tuna buy has been 2.5 oz. Bumble Bee albacore tuna unflavored pouches found at the Dollar Tree store.  Beware the flavored pouches have 5 grams less protein and 70 more calories.  A favorite vegetable to pair with the tuna is a dollar package of steamable cauliflower with cheese sauce.  A complete meal for $2.00.
