My surgery was successful on April 11th! I had my one week post op appt this past Monday and was already advanced to Phase 2, pureed foods. I was expecting to be on liquids for another week...So, what are some food ideas since I will be on this phase until my next appt in three weeks? I have been trying Lentil soup, cottage cheese, peaches, greek yogurt. That is about it so far. Any suggestions??

Thanks!

Are you able to have scrambled eggs?  Also Ricotta bake is delicious.  Refried beans with a little cheese on top is great too.

Oh, yes! I forgot to mention that one. I have also tried scrambled eggs. Am I allowed cheese since everything needs to be pureed? What is Ricotta bake?

I would ask you surgeon's office to make sure, but google "the world according to eggface".  She has a ton of recipes including the ricotta bake :)

Am I allowed any condiments At this phase? I saw on that one website people adding a tiny bit of mayo to tuna fish or sour cream to something. How about ketchup or mustard? Has anyone tried these things while on the puréed phase?

I used them.  Try to make good choices with them, since regular ketchup usually is pretty high in sugar.  Heinz makes a reduced sugar ketchup that I use.  Also, mayo is good, jus****ch the calories since it's pretty high in fat.  I buy the Canola Mayo.  I used ketchup, mustard, mayo, plain yogurt (which has a good protein/calorie ratio) and some gravies as well.  It helps to keep everything moist and that is good for your pouch right now.

Just make sure to measure and log the condiments because they can be high in calories and you want to make sure your in your calorie limits.
