Am I drinking too fast?

I'm 3 days post op and I just got home from the hospital. I was drinking water at the hospital and it kept making me burp. Painfully loud too. The nurse said it was just gas from the surgery but I wonder if I'm drinking too fast. I'm easily getting in liquids but wonder if I'm doing it too fast.

I was told just to sip and not gulp.... i'm a week out and i am having a hard time getting in all my liquids due to that fact!

Try drinking slower and see if it makes a difference. Sometimes you just burp no matter what, esp. in the beginning.

I think you are drinking to fast. I was doing the same thing and they brought me a medicine cup . I filled it and did 1 ounce every 10 minutes. I did this for a few days or else I would have the same problem 

I was just going to give the very same advice!

I also used a small medicine cup for a while.  I had to get used to NOT gulping (I didn't think I was) -- and swallowing a lot of air.
